OTT Video Search App Launched by Yahoo

Yahoo has released the Yahoo Video Guide for searching for movies and TV shows across more than 30 online services.

Users can search Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu, HBO Go, YouTube, ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC and others for what they want to watch. The app also offers plot summaries, ratings and reviews from Rotten Tomatoes, and a ‘mood picker’ that uses animated GIFs to sort suggestions.

“Whether you’re looking for a thriller with a romantic twist or a dark comedy, you can find the perfect movie or TV show – just choose the GIFs that match your mood, and we’ll make recommendations based on fit,” said Yahoo’s senior product manager Robby Stein, in a blog.

The app is available to US users from both on the App Store and Google Play.
