The NextBC Top 25 Finalists Revealed
DigiBC, the Industry Association for New Media & Wireless Companies in B.C., has revealed the top 25 nominees for the second annual NextBC Showcase of Innovation & Awards Night, to be held on the evening of Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Science World.
Split into five categories, with five nominated companies in each group, these collected top 25 B.C. companies represent the best in their industry in terms of innovation. This year the NextBC nominees come from the areas of transformative technology and apps, video games, digital marketing, mobile communications, financial technology (fintech), wearable technology, 3D printing, virtual reality and more.
The theme of NextBC 2015 is “disruption”, and a fitting one given the impact that technology companies play in BC’s economy, job market and creative/intellectual community. The cutting edge creations that these and the thousands of other start-ups, mid- and enterprise-level companies are making attract hundreds of millions of dollars to our province.
“B.C. is emerging as a global leader in many distinct high tech sectors because of its’ creativity and entrepreneurial spirit,” said Howard Donaldson, President of DigiBC. “We’re tremendously proud to see a wide ranging selection of companies in this year’s candidates, and hope that showcasing at NextBC 2015 gives them more recognition for their groundbreaking achievements.”
