eOne to Adapt Finnish Drama Series Nymphs
By Nellie Andreeva for Deadline Hollywood
Entertainment One Television has acquired format rights to the racy Finnish fantasy drama series Nymphs and will develop and produce a U.S. version of the series to be written by Miranda Kwok (Spartacus: Blood And Sand).
A modern-day take on the ancient Greek myths about nymphs and satyrs, Nymphs is a coming-of-age drama about a beautiful, young, free-spirited woman who reaches her sexual maturity only to discover that she is a Nymph, a supernatural being that is being hunted and enslaved by a devastating race of Satyrs. eOne Television’s John Morayniss, Carrie Stein and Becca Tesarfreund will oversee the project for the company. eOne also will handle worldwide distribution for the series, which will likely target cable and digital outlets.
Kwok’s writing credits also include Sanctuary and historical drama Song Of Silence, for which she won the Best Screenplay award at the Slamdance Film Festival.
