Bell Fund Celebrates Canadian Nominees at the 2014 International Digital Emmy Awards
Canada has received two nominations from amongst 12 projects representing 10 countries nominated for this year’s International Digital Emmy® Awards. The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences today announced that Perfect Storms Interactive (perfectstorms.history.ca ), produced by Secret Location has been nominated in the category of Digital Program: Non-Fiction. In addition, the Bell Fund supported co-production Time Tremors (timetremors.com ), produced by Xenophile Media (Canada) and People’s Republic of Animation (Australia) was nominated in Digital Program: Children & Young People. In addition, YouTube will be honoured with the Pioneer Prize for its contribution to the field of digital entertainment.
The Bell Fund is the exclusive sponsor of the 2014 Digital Emmy® Awards and the awards ceremony to be held during MIPTV’s Opening night activities on Monday, April 7, in Cannes, France. Leading international executives across all sectors of the digital and television industries are expected to attend.
All of the 12 nominated programs will be showcased at MIPCube during a special session, also sponsored by the Bell Fund, giving MIPTV participants a chance to see the best in digital media and meet the nominees. “With international innovation and partnerships key to making digital media hits, it is great to see Canada recognized for our bench-strength in creativity and collaboration,” said Catherine Warren, Bell Fund board member and president of FanTrust Entertainment Strategies. “The Digital Emmy® Awards in Cannes celebrate the best interactive programs in a perfect mash-up of high glamour and diligent judging, making this yearly global gathering the unifying force in our largely virtual profession,” said Warren, who is also a member of the International Academy and will moderate this joint MIPCube session.

Time Tremors is a mobile and online Treasure Hunt that combines game play with storytelling.
