eOne and NSI-Canada Enter Sponsorship Deal
The National Screen Institute – Canada (NSI) has a new three-year sponsorship deal with eOne.
Beginning in 2014, eOne will be a Corporate Strategic Sponsor, supporting various training activities and content development programs at NSI, including NSI Drama Prize, NSI Features First, NSI Totally Television, NSI Online, the NSI Online Short Film Festival, NSI Aboriginal Documentary and NSI New Voices.
Through its courses over the last five years NSI reports it has helped develop 15 short films, three features – plus two more upcoming in 2014 – and four TV series. NSI also provides resources and support to those in the film, television and digital media industries at nsi-canada.ca.
“Entertainment One has such a huge presence in the film and television industry,” said John Gill, NSI CEO. “They’re at the forefront of showcasing great talent to the world, and we’re very grateful for their interest and commitment to training the next generation of writers, directors and producers.”
Since its founding over 27 years ago, NSI has made a major impact in the Canadian film, television and digital media industries by training screen professionals for sustainable careers. According to its most recent alumni survey, 87% of respondents are working in the industry.
“We are delighted to be on board as sponsors and supporters. NSI has a strong track record of success for developing curriculums that nurture Canadian screen talent and develop their skills and network,” said Darren Throop, president & CEO, Entertainment One. “The quality of Canadian film and television has never been higher and, as a Canadian company with offices around the world, we’re proud to see more and more homegrown talent emerge and shine at home and around the globe.”
