Abu Dhabi – The world’s leading mobile content producers and experts will convene in Abu Dhabi to celebrate the winners of the third mobile World Summit Award, a UN flagship program for the best in digital media.

Winning mobile projects, submitted from 160 UN member states, were selected by an independent international jury based on overall excellence and relevance to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.

“The range of creativity and real-world relevance seen across the top projects is incredible,” said Catherine Warren, World Summit Award executive board member and president of FanTrust Entertainment Strategies. “From sustainable cities in Brazil to job matchmaking in Germany to stargazing in Russia, these and other winning mobile apps showcase the best in humanity and innovation.”

Catherine Warren will be joined by other leading speakers from around the world, including Harri Koponen, COO of Rovio (Angry Birds) and Ralph Simon, Mobile Entertainment Forum founder and mobile advisor to Lady Gaga, U2 and Madonna. The FanTrust keynote, “Your Mobile Fans: Best Friends, Taskmasters and Critics” will feature today’s audience trends and traps.

“This is an unparalleled event for winners and experts to debate mobile issues, share local intelligence on a global stage and plan collaborations that will shape mobile content for years to come,” said Warren.

The exclusive Mobile World Summit Award congress and gala, with guest of honour UN Assistant Secretary-General Ambassador Thomas Stelzer, will be held February 3-5, 2013 in Abu Dhabi’s Jumeirah at Etihad Towers.
