ABC to Stream True HD

Disney-ABC Television group will become the first network broadcast television station to stream true High Definition 1280×720 resolution to the personal computer. In early July anyone with a computer and broadband connection can watch shows like “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Lost,” and “Desparate Housewives,” amongst others.
The huge advantage for advertisers is that ads can now be geo-targeted based on the computer’s IP address. This allows ads to be tailored to the consumers location and to their taste in television.
This announcement will undoudedly spur on competing networks to release more HD content, for the web, as well as, for the mobile screen of cell phones and PDAs.
